McNamee Scholars Program
OK, I'm a little biased on this one. The McNamee Scholars Program was started by my parents to provide the opportunity for capable students in urban Philadelphia to enjoy the benefits of a great high school (and then college) education. These kids are limited only by the limited resources available to them, and MSP aims to level the playing field for these deserving individuals. Not only do they get to attend fantastic schools, but they are provided with continuous mentoring to ensure their success. 100% of funds donated goes to pay for the education of these scholars. There is no paid staff, and the Board of Directors personally assumes all costs of running the organization. More information can be found on their website. Here's a video I produced that gives a great overview of the program;Fisher House
The Fisher House provides free housing to families of injured service members so they can be with their family members at the hospital. For those injured in Iraq or Afghanistan, this means that family members can fly to Germany and stay at a Fisher House to be close to their family member. Once they are transferred to the United States, there's a Fisher House for them there too. And there's even a Fisher House at Fort Lewis. Donations can be sent to;Jodi Land
